"Just Say No" is ready to go. Enclosed please find entry blank, rules and regulations and a copy of the official coloring sheets for the Department of Colorado "JUST SAY NO" contest. Please pass this infonnation packet on to the Chainnan who will take this to the schools.

Please have the Chairman make copies, enough for each student entry, of the entry blank, rules and regulations and the official coloring sheets for distribution to the schools. Please distribute these to the school entrants in order that they may enter in the Post/Auxiliary Contest. Permission slips must be filled out and attached to the back of each entry. Please have the Chairnan also distribute the rules and regulations and entry blank for the Poster Contest. Permission slips must be filled out and attached to the back of each entry.

In the coloring book competition, grades 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 should be judged by the sponsoring VFW Post/Auxiliary and the top 1 (one), in each category forwarded to Department for judging.

In the poster competition, grades 5 & 6 and 7 & 8 should be judged by the sponsoring VFW Post/Auxiliary and the top 1 (one), in each category forwarded to Department for judging.

It is requested that the VFW Post in cooperation with their Auxiliary, contact private, parochial and small schools and encourage them to be involved in our program: Many of the small school Districts and private schools do not have the extended programs that the large schools have. Scout troops, Sunday School classes and 4-H are also organizations that could be contacted.

All entries must be at Department Headquarters no later than February 7, 2011. Posts and Auxiliaries may make donations to this program, which in turn will help with the prize money and may increase the awards depending on the amount of donations. All donations must be sent to Department Headquarters. Awards will be presented at the Youth Awards Carnival on March 12,2011 at VFW Post 4171 in Golden, Colorado.

There will be a winner for each age group

CONTEST FORMAT: All entries must concern drugs and alcohol

FOR ALL LEVELS:
Make sure that the entry blank is fastened securely to the back ofthe entry
